Dear Wynnum,

How are you going out there?

What a horrendous few years our industry has had. Miraculously (and thanks to incredible support from Government, Sponsors and Audiences) we are into our third year of Wynnum Fringe: Brisbane’s home of Fringe arts. Our Festival began in November 2020 and has doubled in size each year. With plenty of pivots and shuffles along the way, 2022 will see us grow again!

The most important part of the Festival? Artists. We are at the core of any great operation. The Arts build community, provoke thoughts, growth, change and boost the economy. Our producing team is made up of world class artists who understand the importance of the artist experience at a Festival, as we’ve been on both sides of the fence! We’ve played at Fringe Festivals around the world – and we want Wynnum Fringe to be as accessible as possible. The easier it is to perform at a Festival, the more fun you can have onstage. Of course, there is a business side to performing in a Festival, but we have done it before as artists, so we want to simplify it – we know how draining the process can be.

In addition to myself, this year sees David Carberry join the team as Executive Producer of Wynnum Fringe, Jess Papst as Associate Producer and Emma Martin as Communications & Admin Manager. Until now, we have not had a designated team focusing on this event all year round. We are here to make your experience as excellent as possible.

Much love and thanks,

Tom Oliver
